The Farm

The Farm

Five Acre Farm, nestled in the heart of Christchurch’s Heathcote Valley, is home to a luxury boutique stay in The Cabin, as well as the sheep, calves and honey bees that roam the five acres of farmland.

The gals

We have thirteen ewes and nineteen little lambs that make up the flock at Five Acre Farm. One of our lambs, named Sparkle, had a bumpy start to life, but is now frolicking around our paddocks and comes bounding over as soon as she glimpses that warm bottle of milk.

The Lads

Contending for the gals attention are the two lads on the farm, calves George and Willy. Named after the builders who put so many houses of work into beautifully renovating The Cottage and building The Cabin – we thought naming the calves after them was the least we could do!

Honey Bees

A local beekeeper helps to tend to our resident honey bees. Fingers crossed they will be filling jars of honey for the pantry in The Cottage and The Cabin for you to enjoy spread on your toast at breakfast.

Orchard & garden

The cottage is surrounded by a beautiful established garden. As well as the roses, guests can help themselves to the fruit trees and vegetable garden.
